Good people, good curling.

The Good Curling Company exists to celebrate the game of curling and the community of people in it. While the history of curling is rich with tradition, there needs to be space for new traditions to be a truly inclusive community. The camaraderie of curlers before, during, and after games has made the game so popular and beloved by those who are in its communities.

The Good Curling Company exists to celebrate the game of curling with products that appeal to curling fans, while aspiring to introduce the game to more participants.

Good curling means more participation. 

Curling is a highly social game that at its core can be incredibly accessible - people of all ages, races, gender expressions, and physical abilities have the same set of rules and game mechanics to curl together. Curling equipment consists of clean shoes, a sliding pad, and a broom, the latter two devices often available at curling facilities.

Access to curling ice, specialized and different than skating ice, offers a substantial cost and barrier. And for many, the facilities that house the curling ice is a significant barrier as well. The history of curling is dominated by European traditions displayed prominently throughout these facilities, which can be intimidating to those who don't identify with them. But pebbled ice and polished granite rocks can be universal.

The Good Curling Company seeks to be an agent for growing interest in curling, particularly with people who have not previously felt welcomed to participate. There are and will continue to be programs which we would be grateful to support and partner on. Good curling means good for the planet.  

Many of the apparel items featured on The Good Curling Company are produced once ordered, to reduce the impact of excess production on our environment. Items with this fulfillment process feature a "Printed on Demand" banner on the product detail page. 

All shipments are done with efforts to be carbon neutral in partnership with the Shopify Planet app and program. Eco-friendly packaging is used where possible with partners like Noissue. 

Orders that are local to Paris, Ontario can also be picked up in person for reductions in packaging. 

Good curling means more fun. 

Curling is at its best when the ice is filled with a diverse community of participants playing the game and socializing together. The game has its own terminology, expressions, and unique rules, and the Good Curling Company aims to bring as many of these unique curling elements to fun apparel and product designs.
